Abuelita's Cocina
I remember waking up as a child to the smell of a traditional Salvadoran breakfast, a nostalgic feeling I now experience only when I visit my grandmother’s house. In a Latin family, food was, and still is, the heartbeat of the home. The occasion never really mattered; what mattered most was what was on the menu.
In this story, I take you back to Abuelita’s kitchen through the eyes of six-year-old me and share the very first recipe I ever learned. Cooking and eating have a way of bringing people together all around the world, and there’s truly nothing quite like Grandma’s cooking. This is a children's story filled with a traditional recipe, culture, and fun family memories.
From my Abuelita’s kitchen to yours.
